According to Aon Benfield, weather-specific natural catastrophe (nat-cat) events accounted for 97% of global catastrophes in 2017 with a record $344 billion in economic damage. While organizations are working proactively to ensure their property nat-cat programs are resilient, as even the best-laid disaster response plans will not ensure operational and financial resiliency during a possible major loss event. This year at RIMS, we are excited to unveil our new Rapid Response Mobile Cat Alert System. This mobile app offers new features / capabilities for clients including immediate natural disaster alerts, instant visibility of potentially impacted locations, including impact to asset reports, and the ability to communicate with an Aon Rapid Response first responder.
